Dolls House

I need to post these photos somewhere!!! For Mina and Abi mostly.
Today I helped an old friend set up a dolls house that had been dismantled when they moved house 18 months ago. Its a subject for a painting and now lives amongst the other subjects, and said relevant paintings, in a sepcial room in their house-gallery. It was like christmas in so many ways! Partly because Id not seen all the little bits and pieces of furniture before, and it was a surprise unwrapping them all XD!! But it was mostly like christmas because it was permanently christmas in the house. The first thing I did was hang up gold and red ribbon as christmas decoration. There were even tiny christmas cards on top of the piano and tiiiiiny paper crackers at the dinner table, complete with gold edging and even tinier gold cherubs on!! I had a lot of fun putting things where i would have put them in real life XD bucket under the sink, stockings on the end of the beds, umbrella by the door!! XD!! adorable!

Just realised we hit the 90 posts mark with our last blog! That's not important though... What is important is the SNOW.

I love it! It is the best kind of precipitation you can get and IT'S MINE ALL MINE. For the most part anyway, as despite it being 10:12 now there is STILL no one outside D: ... Well there's a few, but I only saw about 7 people on my travels.

Today is easter and it holds a lot of promise... Whether I get out and actually have some fun in the snow with some OTHER PEOPLE remains to be seen, but it's the holidays so at least there are lots of people to potentially have fun with.

Kergraan has been most bogusly neglected by Rosie and myself for quite an extensive period of time.

In fairness we have been busy. There's been art, exams and coursework at college and free time has been taken up with various creative activities, including, to a large extent, Cakebomb. With the creation of Cakebomb what was our primary blog has now become our secondary website, Kergraan is suffering... the way pet guinea pigs do when you get a puppy for Christmas...

But here I am, sitting in my living room with my TV distracting me - Please let there be a power cut - and the true story is I missed my guinea pig. I was reading a friend's blog and decided it had been too long.

As usual I have come to my living room, to this computer, to my long starved blog, with nothing much to say. I find blogging difficult. The one I just read talked about expanding boundaries; how what was once a private thing between a person and their diary has moved into a completely different realm and I must admit it makes me uncomfortable. How much can I say without people thinking I'm some kind of freak? What is going to be considered by the outside world as genuine and what as pretentious bull-hocky? If boundaries can be pushed, boundaries can be broken and I don't wanna stumble through a plywood wall - I'll get splinters.

Me being me these fears are, likely, illogical. I have gone as far "personal-wise" as I am ever likely to go and I know people who are far more pretentious than I could ever expect to be. But these worries will dog me, I will continue to be apprehensive as I plough into a world that I don't technically understand. But I will continue to read and write blogs and try my best (or at least a little) to time share between Kergraan and Cakebomb.

As for my worries? There is nothing I can do about them. Ask anyone, I am, unfortunately, a sucker for anxiety.

... Slow Club last night (lol at my myspace bulletin-style beginning) and it was AWESOME. Really like them now and want the girls hair cos it is the lovely XD. They were headlining with teo bands before them. The first guy was actually a solo artist... nice bloke and a really good guitar player but in my opinion not so strong on the lyrics, didn't know his name...

Next band (Delphi) were good too ... the second guy on guitar was an AMAZING player and I think the overall sound was good... lots of energy to it and the front man's voice was le wicked XD

Slow Club rocked my socks! Not heard much of their music before but really liked everything they played. Really nice people too... The venue was so small even the people at the back of the room could have a chat with the people on stage and we took up the entire section of middle seating save two chairs... we were only a party of 7. The stage was 4 metres by 2 metres lol.

I now owe Rosie 5 pounds cos I liked the band so much I bought a T-shirt... plus to be honest I wanted a green T-shirt in general anyway XD. We semi-accidently manage to ditch Umit and Marc and their friend on our way out and went back to Mina's house without them... I am cool beans and gave Rosie and Bing a lift (well, technically my dad is cool beans) to the respective places they needed to be...

AN AWESOME EVENING and great to see Mina again after sooooo long. Thank you again for the nailuto!! XD

Structure:
Intro/strategy summary - Barney told me to state my topic and then my focus area basically. eg "i was interested in Heroes because i watched it and found a lot of other people, who arent usually known to delve into the sci-fi stuff of last years london expo, watching it too AND LOVING IT. wtf? i 'wanted' to find out why this was by tediously analysing every fu... etc etc"

Methods/Sources and how USEFUL they were - describe what you planned to do, eg "i watched it, then wanted to ask poeple stuff, then looked at magazines, then went on internet, looked at some books..." go through each of the steps of research you did, or stole off someone else lol. and say how useful it was, and perhaps why and how it lead you to the next step. eg "i used the overpriced official magazine to find out why heroes is appealing according to the people who made it. there was a lot of crap and biased quotes because the actors are incredibly vain, but it was useful in technical sfx some ways..." this should be the maaaain part of your first question, so lots of paragraphs here.

Summary/conclusion thing - sum up! but about how useful it was and not how painfully hard and boring its been. lie if you have to! eg "Overall researching the topic of tv drama has been more difficult than i imagined, the most useful source was X because it has a well researched article from a repected academic journal. This meant that i could trust the souce loll etc"i dont know what to do if your most useful source was INTERVIEWS as mine probably was, but i guess you could blag something about it being a primmary source and so its just far better than anything ever.

TomSka (ASSSS) wanted a (hang on we love him really) stunt dummy... One you could throw off buildings and hit with cars and stuff... so we made him Albi. Albi took us about 5 hours from excitement commencing to completetion. We got the method off of Backyard FX (IndyMogul on Youtube). We wrapped me (Abi) in tape and cut me out again XD Then we stuffed the figure and....well.... clothed it.

I quite enjoyed the last episode of Heroes
Read some reviews and some poelpe feel a bit let down by the "I'll hit Sylar then you hit Sylar then someone else hit Sylar and we'll all TAKE TURNS" approach of the final battle but I figure that sorta comes with the territory on a show likie this... Also...and call me whatever you will after I admit this... I liked the end with Nathan sacraficing himself for his brother, when heroism becomes "cheesy" we live in a very sad and empty world (plus the phrase "cheesy" is the cheesiest phrase ever...

Apologese for my last 3 post...I can't delete them though i would like to. The message was put up purely to show my sister that i had been talking to her for 45 minutes even if she didn't know it. Ignore it and the two before which used to say the same thing until I deleted the content to save space (my computer flipped out when I was trying to post it so it went up three times, i flipped out too).

Anyway...
We saw all our music video on the big screen today. We spent over three hours at the picturehouse which was tiring but worth it. I've been recovering by watching TV and Adiuming for the last 5 and a half hours...it hasn't worked, I am now even tireder...

I've also been photoshopping a design for a promotional cakebomb.com badge which I originally painted with the worst paint you can imagine so I'm glad to have updated it. Here's the (probably) final design for this one...

We had a good meal at Wagamama and bing did his whole cat hair thing. We had cake for afters which i maintain did in fact ave wasabi in it... YOU COULD TASTE IT! Plus: why lie on a menu? Menus are sacred...

Then we saw Resident Evil Extinction, the third in the series which was WAY better than the second... They are obviously also intending to make a fourth which is maybe a bad idea seeing as so far the even numbered films in the series have been SHIT.

We watched this one eating pic'n'mix which was not, perhaps, the best idea. Mina got a bunch of horrifically mutilated soap-tasting gummy dolphins which were inedible so she left one on the back of the chair infront because it looked so much like road kill no one had the heart to through it away... Bind and Tomska both had an entire strawberry sour role (we're talikng 6 cm diametre) at once. It took Bing about ten minutes to swallow his and afterwards he looked a bit ill... I mostely had chocolae mice which taste like salt if you eat them after any other sweet...IT WAS AWESOME.

The film was good overall... The corny writing style ruled and Ali Larter was in it. The prosthetics left a little to be desired when it came to the big monster at the end...only the hand though, the rest was good. Other gore was generally awsome.

The plot was maybe a little directionless but the way they ended it means there is ow way they can't make a fourth

I've been practicing "that time" so much that I now have a blister on my middle finger. Poor Mr. Middle just isn't used to playing so much in such a short space of time.

Really all this blog is is procrastination...I have to do some more digital art and I CAN'T BE ARSED because i'm basically shit. Last night was cool, me and my dad watched the first wo Lord of the Rings films in a row... though films are a lot better the second (or possibly third) time round...not that they were bad in the first place.

Other procrastinating activities today:
Tidied my room (now if Bing radomly decides he wants to wonder my house again I don't have to appoloise for the fact that he has to wade over my clothes...though really it's his fault for being snoopy)
Practised RG (I know I've already mentioned "that time" but I want to labour the point because I rarely practce guitar to any noticeable extent but now I'm working my arse off, I WANT TO MAKE TOM PROUD)
Watche "whose line is it anyway" (awsomely awsome! in case you're wondering it's on on five US everday from 12 to 1 and it's worth the watch... I'm trying to get Rosie to watch it but she's never here whens it's on...)

So now I'm blogging... I finally put my Sylar picture up at my mum's and it's really disracting cos it's above my desk and he's so HOT that I keep looking at it.

I came on my computer as much to add to my Christmas list as to do any actual work. 'Maybe it's a little early to be making a list Abi' I hear you say in a slightly condisending parential tone, but the truth is i have a year round list that i buy things from myself and when it starts to get wintery it becomes my Chritmas list, which is nice. I haven't, however, forgotten halloween and I WANT TO DO SOMETHING. In my house halloween has a tendancy to slip by unnoticed which I hate because horroe is kinda my thing...well not horror but definately gore.

Speakig of which we've discovered a new genius. His name is Jonathan Coulton and he wrote "still alive" the song at the end of portals. Once I found this out I to his myspace and discovered he is awsome. In my eternal knowledge I only listened to one song and got distracted downloading and didn't listen to any more, but SUPER ROSIE (princess) came to the rescue and made me listen to the other ones... give him a try if you haven't already cos he's hilarious and a great listen in the more musical sense as well.

Anyway I have to do (stupid) digital work now, but it's ok cos companion cube is here...

Bing's today and Tom's yesterday:
Tom's was great: on top of Lion Yard car park till about 9:50. The security guard was really nice about it and it was hilarious every time a car drove up there because the minute they saw thirty teenagers milling aroung on a dark evening they just kept on driving. Lolz. There was moshing, guitar swinging and a big ball of people. There were also a few smaller fights which looked good. Bing spat blood too which was a nice touch and a joy to watch.

Bing's: More blood spittig except this time me and Tom... I tried four times to hit the camera but I kept missing, I hit Rosie's arm quite spectacularly though so lolz at that (and apologies). Tom hit it first time (damn his acurate aim) so Bing will probably use his take. While Bing spent the whole shoot dressed as a pimp the rest of us were zombies...AWESOME! I'm excited because it's the first time my make-upping skillz have been recorded in motion! It's also the first video I can recollect where there is voyeurism in respects to zomies...but that's rap for you...

I had a cornetto and lots of pizza!

Tomorrow I'm stop-motioning for my music video (which at this stage I'm worried about) and I'm hoping the green cardboard I've got will suffice for the background...if not we're screwed XD cos we've already used it for some other layers.

After minimum planning and maximum stress over the past month,
IT WAS EXCELLENT. as much as i want to admit sam's ideas are quite good, they are actually AWFULLY ambitious and expensive but very fun, as has been the case forever.

Breif account of the 2 days as experienced by ME! ROSIE! XD
-urm started quite badly to be honest XD had to miss media and lost my song to another group D:
but i found out thats because my teacher has faith in my group to produce good work even with a song we dont like. thanks, i guess...
-LOL hotel just like in the promotional video i saw that morning (on youtube XD) it was actually really awesome. and completely supervision free! the whole place is delightfully cheesy and thouroughly water themed, even down to the lift music! surfin' USA and the pugwash theme XD ahahahaa. it was so awesome. everythings sponsored by imperial leather. much free goods were nabbed.
-swam with Abi and Sam and Sophie for the first time since we first met in year 8!!! 7 years this month since i met Sophie and Katie. god i love them. also, AWESOME pool. awesome.
-hilarious partially naked times were had in the hotel. it was lols.
-OMGBUFFET. it was actually incredible. and paid for mostly by Sam's mum!!! this is what i can remember of the vast amounts i consumed:
make-it-yourself Ceasar Salad. i had chicken and bacon and everything.
QUORN SAUSAGES AND CHINESE. thats hoisin wraps and spring rolls and rice and noodles and the whole lot.
tasteless and disappointing cheesecake...
profiteroles and strawberries with liquid chocolate on! chocolate fountains are overrated tho..
THE BEST TURKISH DELIGHT EVER. it was like in NARNIA!! *melts*
more strawberries and grapes and turkish delight....and some fudge i think..
some chicken drumsticks ^^; and some garlic bread/pizza-bread thing that was GOOD.
more turkish delight and some MINT ICE CREAM!
and YES, that was in order.
-the waiters also (were dressed funny) DID A WEIRD VERSION OF THE CONGA which i filmed some of. and which also magically made us less full. amazing!
-then the it crowd and my name is earl, with friends!!! like ive always wanted it to be!!
-Sam snores and wouldnt let me have his nice bed. also, the water wasnt drinkable and i was VERY thirsty.

NEXT DAY.
-woke up at 6:30am to shower and eat before half 8!! EARRRRLLYYY!!!!
-early morning dancing in the lifts is really funny.
-FREE BUFFET BREAKFAST. full english breakfast, and then melon. nice.
-then to the park by 9. and there before everyone else!! XD hotel passes FTW.
-no queues!!
-traveling 0 - 100mph in 2.5 seconds is one hell of a wake up at 9:15 in the morning XD
-NO QUEUES!!
-went on all the good stuff before 11:30, and even managed to somehow get Sophie on Air!! rather unexpectedly she cried hysterically the whole time. sorry, Sophie XD. but she did laugh afterwards. and the photo was excellent XD!!
-ghost-train-turned-laser-quest lasted AGES and was fucking hilarious.
-we got very very very soaked on some very blatanly imperial leather sponsored flume rides. OH and i made 'the horse face' in that photo, just for you, Tomska!
-journey home was FUNNY. me and Abi acted out the songs we were listening to, at the same time. we were listening to different songs. XD it was great. everyone else fell asleep, pretty much...

additional things:
-MANY polaroids were taken.
-MUCH screaming was done. mostly by me, just the hell of it. i have a sore throat now XD
-i ate a donut!!! it was more like sugary batter tho..
-i just turned down the rare chance for fish and chips because i feel i have consumed toooo much grease this weekend already D:

although, it has been a lovely last few days.
sunday night had lovely weather, which we.. made the most of in sawston. fo shizzle.
and it was really sunny in feltwell yesterday, and i was wearing yellow :D

cant believe how much i STILL have yet to watch.
TRANSFORMERS AND THE SIMPSONS MOVIE, tales from eathsea again, yellow submarine, garden state, eternal sunshine, home movies series 3 and 4, all that ghost in the shell i borrowed from gerrard XD, ouran highschool, cowboy bebob, MOAR ROBOT CHICKEN, and some other things ive forgotten...
thats a LOT. not to mention all games, and all the manga! which i was reading today!!

i think i might start pokemon pearl again when sam and abi and bing get it...
COMES OUT ON FRIDAY!!! AWESOME.

FINALLY!!! I have arrived! and all without my notebook... i had an interesting msn conversation i wanted to post but i left it on my other computer! I COULDN'T GET ON TO THIS BLOODY BLOG because EVERYTHING IS STUPID a bit... now it's 1:04 in the morning and i can't sleep and "just can't wait to be king " just came onto itunes...oooooo now it's achordian music....my i do have some freaking weird music on this computer. Here i am sitting in an "L" shaped box, my face all lit up by the milky glow of my computer screen, my laptop on my lap and i'm all hunched over cos it's hard to see the key board and i have NOTHING to say. Both painfully and shamefully aware that i have been neglecting the blog of late...have done NOTHING entertaining or of remote interest to anyone else for a considerably long time...OOOOOO Hazing=Hazing "subjecting someone to abusive and/or humiliating mental or physical harm", my mutual relationship with ruth (in a nice way), my sister looked that up cos it's part of the plot in that film that goes "the truth, you can't handle the truth" (a few good men). SWAN SWAN SWAN you point out it's the summer (i suppose as a way of displaying the fact you soon have hours of mind-numbingly boring hours ahead of you in which colouring a swan will be your only relief) but this highlights EXACTLY HOW LONG I HAVE BEEN WAITING (since hot fuzz came out IN FEBRUARY).
